People Power

They all contributed to the story of Glasswells
The success of Glasswells over the past 60 years has been due to the dedication of family members and of course, their loyal staff. Many may have only worked here for a brief time, but there are many more who have given years of service. Some have spent all their working lives at Glasswells. In fact the size of the long service awards board is testimony to the vast number of people who have stayed with the company for 20, 30, 40 and in a couple of cases, 50 years or more.

Everybody, to varying degrees, has contributed to the story of Glasswells. Experience, professional knowledge and continuity are all important to our many faithful customers, some of whom have also been with us for many years!

Lesley GlasswellSpanning a period of 60 years since Jerry Glasswell and his son Leslie opened their first shop and took on their first employees, it would be impossible to mention everybody by name. Pictured above, however, are some of the longer serving members of staff who remain with the company today. (Left to right: Graham Vale (1973), Liz Clarkson (1964), Richard Ball (1968), Colin Fayers (1957), Ted Crouch (1956) Terry Glasswell (1963), Roger Tricker (1963)).

None though have given more years of service than our Chairman, Leslie Glasswell (pictured on the right), who started working with his father at the end of the second World War, is still active in the company, and still taking a keen interest in the welfare of the staff.
