their Diamond Anniversary With a full calendar of celebrations and generous promotions throughout 2006 there is an opportunity for all to be involved and perhaps save some money along the way. There will also be a special weekend at the end of May to celebrate the actual anniversary date of 27th May, so look out for more details of this, plus the launch of a very special competition to win a valuable diamond ring, this will be the grand finale with the winner due to be announced in the autumn.
Glasswells are proud of their history and their success. It was back in 1946 when Jerry Glasswell, the father of Leslie, current Chairman, grandfather of Paul, current Managing Director, opened the first shop in Bury St. Edmunds, this quickly spread to further locations in Saffron Walden and Haverhill. In the meantime their removals business was established and quickly grew and their Contracts service started to supply flooring, curtains and other soft furnishings to local authorities, hotels, schools and builders contractors.
Today, the removals service has grown to offer a complete removals and storage solution, which includes relocation overseas, whilst the Contracts division continues to go from strength to strength. In addition, Glasswells are proud to be the largest independent home furnishing store in Suffolk; the Bury store continues to be their flagship store while they still have the Saffron Walden and Haverhill locations with the additional of an Ipswich store.
One of the secrets of their success is their strong belief in providing fantastic high quality products that offer great value for money, delivered through a highly personal service - a traditional that is still key to their business today.
